Has anyone had experience getting an item price matched at DJ's with an online store that's based interstate?
In the price policy detailed in the above link it reads:
The David Jones Price Promise does not extend to any product which:
- is from a stand-alone online retailer (or pure play website);
Would an interstate retailer without a bricks and mortar shop presence in my state be considered stand-alone or pure play?
yes, but i want to find out if any people have had success price matching with an online retailer that does have a physical store that's only located interstate.
We did using Peter's of Kensington which does not have a shop presence in QLD.

I've had mix success and I believe its all about who your deal with whilst your there.
Some staff are friendly and willing to help customer get the best price whilst other staff will do everything in their power not to discount.
i.e I got a scanpan frypan price matched from $100+ dollars down to $68 without question on the otherhand another occasion it took almost 30 minutes for a store rep to confirm a sony sounddock was on special at a competitor even when I had the catalog infront of me… they said they had to confirm stock is available and dialled to store and waited on hold forever until confirmed they finally agreed to price match down from $129 to $98.
They will price match as long as they have a bricks and mortar store anywhere in australia.
Eg. I pricematched a camera from Bing Lee, there's no Bing Lee store in South Aust, but because they have retails stores in Sydney etc. and ship to Adelaide, they price matched.
The first time I tried to pricematch for that camera, the DickSmith/DJ staff said they cant PM. So I rang another DJ store and spoke to the sales manager who confirmed they can.
yes if it doesn't have a physical retail shopfront anywhere
