I signed up to Crashplan a few years ago to a 4 year deal they had running and currently back-up over 400GB to the cloud, but in a few months, I'll have to either continue and start paying them around $70 a year, or move to a new provider.
While investigating, I stumbled across DrivePop, initially interested in their 2014 plans which are being offered at 50% off, however they are only for 1 year.
What is more interesting, is their Lifetime plan for which the link will give access to the following prices :
1 PC : $89.99 (one-time) + $4.99 / year if you don't continue with Briefcase
5 PC (Family) : $119.99 (one-time) + $4.99 / year if you don't continue with Briefcase
Unltd PCs (Ultimate) : $149.99 (one-time) + $4.99 / year if you don't continue with Briefcase
All plans offer :
UNLIMITED Backup Space
FREE Briefcase (SYNC Drive) Service 1 year
Unthrottled Bandwidth
Military Grade AES-256 Encryption
Backup local and external drives. NAS extra.
Stream Your Music and Movies From Your Account
File Versioning (30 Versions)
View File Online/Anywhere
Control Panel & APP Access
Access from any device (iPad, Android, etc.)
30 Day No Hassle Money Back Guarantee
Quite a lot of Q&As in the thread linked - e.g. :
- how they handle external drives
- what the limitations of a family plan are …
Unlimited PC's can be open to abuse. I wouldn't mind a one time fee for permanent storage but I would like to know about reliability via reviews and others confidence in this business
