  • I just noticed the tickets are being sold by Ticketek. Does that mean that - like the Sydney Easter Show did last year when they advertised 'Discount Online Tickets!" - your saving of 10% off the regular ticket price ends up being more expensive than a regular ticket after a $6 admin fee is added?

Sounds like a good deal if there is no admin fee, but if there's a Ticketek fee, then it's probably not a deal at all and basically false advertising. I'm not going myself so can't test it out, but have a few friends who I emailed this offer to.

Thanks for posting the deal, I'm just very sceptical about stuff like this these days.

My friend just tried it - a $24 pre-show ticket is reduced to $21.80 with the code. But Ticketek then charge $3.95 for a print-yourself ezyTicket (total $25.75), or $4.95 for pick-up at the show ($26.75). Normal show price is $28. So you save a grand total of $2.25 minus the cost of printing the ticket, or $1.25 if you pick it up at the show, where you'll still have to queue up. Definitely not 10%, and I'd refuse to book with them on principle.

Not really a deal I'm afraid :( It's a shame as it is blatantly false advertising, but the ACCC really don't care. It's only a small amount of money per ticket, but when it happens every day to thousands of people, promoters make big $$$ from deceiving people, which is exactly what I thought the ACCC was supposed to prevent.
