Yeah I remember buying it for less. love the suds
How does this compare to Meguiars NextGen?
Optimum car wash is better. Oh wait that wasn't the question.
NextGen cleans better, so works better on dirtier vehicles. I find that Gold has more lubricity and is a great maintenance wash. Because of NXT softeners it works better if you have hard water. I prefer the finish Gold leaves though.
WHich is a better shampoo will come down to being a personal preference. They are both good over the counter products but I have not used either for years.
how do i watch movies with this

Think my shampoo uses the same copywriter..
How does the Gold compare to the Ultimate wash?
The Gold is gold, but the Ultimate is the ultimate.
Well that is some horrible insight
Think of Ultimate as a wash that leaves a just waxed look behind while Gold leaves nothing behind. Each has their own merits and I touched on this in a comment below
Is this stuff actually any good? How does it compare to a premium brand such as Duragloss or Zaino - both of which I use?
Meguairs is on a class of its own…especially their ultimate wax….truly makes your car shine like its on steroids.
Have you ever used either of these? Duragloss 901 is regarded as one of the best car washes available. By both professionals and enthusiasts.
Ultimate leaves a wax like gloss behind but not everyone wants this. Some people don't want to leave anything behind on their paint. Usually because they don't want to change the look of their paint.
Some people like to follow up washing with a spray wax like Duragloss Aquawax. This will leave behind protection that will last much longer than any wash and wax shampoo
I'm not bagging Meguiars. It is a brilliant over the counter brand. I also said previously preference in car washes is a personal opinion. The price is good to try Megs out if you wish. However if you buy 901 in a gallon its still works out cheaper. About 51c vs 62c per wash based on 10L.
I have both Meguiars and Duragloss in my arsenal and my preference is Duragloss. Mmmm cherries
Meguiars is OTC class, Duragloss/Zaino are premium and quite a bit more expensive.
stick with the premium stuff. those are a bit more expensive but will actually last you longer and is better for your car.
i used to use meguiar's nxt gen car wash, which was decent enough but now i've been using wolf's chemicals nano bathe (have paint sealant on my car) and i like it so much better. not only for the dilution ratio but it's slicker, cleans more thoroughly and rinses off faster.
whats the use by date?
the amount of times i wash my car…
I think most brands say that most products will have a shelf life of 3-5 years. However, they should last much much longer as long as they aren't stored in extremely weather conditions. I have some car wash that is over 10 years old and doesn't have any issues. Some products like wax are even more susceptible to weather. Just give them a good shake before using.
On a 10L wash you will get 25 washes out of a bottle of Megs Gold
It may be a good price but still dubious about putting detergent with salts in it on my car. Cops enough of a beating from the crap on the road without me adding to it. Prefer other brand
Where are you getting this info from? The MSDS? Not saying it's not true but I can't read those things. I have no idea what the different names are for salts are, little alone all the other chemicals
This one is for the Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner, G71

States Sodium salts in the sheet. Nothing hidden or interpretive needed for that one
Cheers for the follow up. Looks like you upset some salt fans. If they disagree they could at least comment why. Otherwise it's just an uneducated downvote to someone providing useful information to some of us.
Salts are often used in dishwashing detergents. A cheap way to increase the viscosity. A lot of quality car shampoos contain no salts whatsoever.
Up vote from me
Does come cheaper from time to time, but I love this stuff.
