Simply awesome. I mean why buy something decent for around $200 on sale at JB when you can have this unbranded paper weight. I am sure after a few uses you will just chuck it in the cupboard. Maybe for $40 it would be ok to give to the kids, but not for $129. Even my local IGA has such useless crap for $79…

What can you get in this size that is around $200?

      • K-Mart's home-branded (Audiosonic?) tab cost $199, but I think it's Quad Core (anybody know for sure?) & shaped like an iPad.

The plug at the computer-side of its charging cable looked more like that of some of the "clamshell" ASUS netbooks' plug; definitely not an Android-standard [mini- or micro USB?] plug, so, no chance of using your existing cables or mobile charger(s).

I assume Target is leaving the tab's to other market players -or- maybe taking on a Quad Core tab of their own, & need to clear some shelf space for it.

PS Last time we checked, K-Mart had 2x 7" tabs (of same home brand), but no others. One was Dual- ($79…?) the other Quad- core ($99), but screen resolutions were low, from memory.

If anyone wants to compare, K-Mart online might have spec's.

These tablets don't have Google Play. A colleague of mine bought this for his son and came to me for help — the tablets use some weird 1Mobile Market app portal which cannot be updated or removed.

One can guess why this tablet is being sold so cheaply — high rate of returns.

    • A families one does have google play, just uninstall/disable 1mm in settings>applications manager

    • Sounds like the Panda pad, that AusPost & - hard to believe - even Officeworks were peddling, for a while.

We noticed the lack of Google Play, & 2x "market" app's… one or both were always returning false hits, mostly gambling or [soft?]porn related, to most searches.

      Great toy for kids… not.

PS We (in AU) waste enough on gambling, IMO, but on the wrong machines.

(IMO: Better to pool our gambling budgets & invest together, I mean -really- invest, in "Energy from Thorium" …cf Dr Prof Eduardo Greaves' 35-min talk on YouTube for some of the reasons.

If you prefer a "faster, somewhat intense" voice, start with Kirk Sorensen's "executive summary," in the last 5 min's of his 10-min TEDxYYC talk.

If either of these convinces you there might be something worth "gambling on" in EfTh, but you'd like more details before you decide to start watching progress towards EfTh from afar, view "Thorium Remix 2011" or later ones, if/when released; both on YouTube, but there are 2x doco's available in an Android app: Thorium (one on the app's Google Play page, & one that the app plays for you, without the need to download & store a large file on a small-storage device).)

      • Was there a segway into Thorium?

    10" LCD Touchscreen (Capavitive)
    1024 x 600 (WSVGA Widescreen)

    lol

  • Is this as good as the Pendo ???

    • +8

It appears that this one has a more aerodynamic profile, so you can throw it further.

    • Surely you jest…

Spec's suggest it could be a re-badge of a Pendo, however, to be convinced that it is, I'd have to search it's market app(s) & see what "extra" (extraneous, better) hits were returned.

      Ibid.

  • Looking at the specs it does have 1GB ram. Lots of the cheap tablets seem to still have 500MB which is a big limitation. Lack of Google play seems like a deal breaker though :-(

    • The HDMI Output (at 1080p/720p) and 2 USB Host/OTG Ports are also a plus.

  • I understand it's a cheap tab, and it's going to be made to spec but 129 is surely a milestone for 10" tabs?
