Free Nagivation iPhone App?

Just wondering if there is a way to get free navigation iphone app such as Tom Tom, Garmin etc?

No because they are paid apps. Therefore not free by definition.

Google Maps is free and works fairly well but does need a data connection on the run.

Try Navfree. Offline navigation, maps stored on device, but requires an initial connection to perform a Google-powered search. It's actually pretty decent and has 4 star reviews.

  These are just maps though. Not turn by turn navigation. OK for basics particularly if on holiday somewhere but not for handsfree driving.

I personally have found the preloaded Maps app to have the best free navigation (n.b. it requires an internet connection initially to cache the journey).
