Any Leftovers from your USA trip recently?

Not quite sure where to post this, hope this thread is ok. If not please let me know.

We are doing a 4-week holiday in USA in April, mostly East Coast, plus Vegas. Some parts will self-drive. I remember reading someone's comments that he/she bought a GPS in US but didnt get around selling it in US but brought it back. So if you have come back with gadgets and stuff that cannot be used here in Oz, and would like to get rid of it, please let me know. Not expecting freebie, so we will pay for it. We live in Brisbane but happy to pay postage…

Things I can think of are GPS, Toll, Sim Card, Power Adapter, City Pass…. You probably know more as we are still in planning stage. Thanx in advance.

    I got a GPS from a trip 18 months ago.

    I'll check this weekend if its in working order.

    I've got a Tomtom XL 335 GPS. I would like to keep it but wouldn't mind lending it to you. I'm in Brisbane too so you wouldn't need to pay postage.

    We just got back from the US and we drove most of the way. Ended up buying an At&t Sim card off EBay Aus for $15, then paid $60 which gave us more than enough data and calls. We then just used Google maps on our Androids which had excellent and was able to show current traffic updates

      Hi Angel, did you mean you get the Sim Card delivered in Oz? Pardon my ignorance, I dont even quite know how to search for it :-(
      We will be driving in the mid West/East, and will be there for 4 weeks. Hope to get WiFi most time.
      I am a Android person too, and am contemplating getting a Tablet, or bigger mobile. What did you use?
      Did you post your trip anywhere? Wd be nice to read….

        Yep got it delivered in Aus and loaded it up with credit in Aus too so when I landed in the USA I already had a fully working Sim. Check it out here

        Sorry I didn't post my trip but I did the whole of the west coast so LA, San fran., Yosemite, Portland, Seattle, salt lake city, Denver, phoenix, grand canyon, San diego.

        It was great having a Sim cause it meant we could call and book activities or call our hotels to tell them we were running late

        Let me know if you wanna know any more about the particular cities or sim :)

    last time I was in the US in 2012, they didn't have prepaid wifi USB modems. does anybody know if this has changed? Thanks!
