This is a bad opening line for a post but; It's not the cheapest this game has been. The DLC however is at an all time low, and the price of the game is pretty decent too.
Steam Daily Deal;
- Grid 2 $10.19, lowest was $7.50 at gamersgate (23/1/2014)
- Grid 2 All In DLC Pack $11.89, this is the cheapest
- Grid 2 Reloaded Ed. $24.99, this is a recently released 'all DLC + Game' bundle but is more expensive than purchasing the above 2 items separately. No additional content is included over the above All in pack.
Personally surprised at the very average reviews on Steam. I found it better in almost every way to Grid 1 with far more interesting tracks and a more focused 'storyline'. Drift events aren't nearly as stupid as the original which would have the AI sitting at about 100k points and any human player at 20million+. Add to that the AI is better in general. The variety in tracks particularly with the addition of height (Grid 1 tracks were very flat and boring) eg Okutama, Peak Road Descent. The game to me felt almost exactly like Juiced. The car handling some of the event locations are very reminiscent of that game.
I would like to add, that any review that says 'drifting around every corner is the only way the game can do corners' are simply wrong. The game requires delicate throttle control, particularly with some of the high end cars. Yes you can drift every corner, but if you are not driving properly (ie brake, downshifting, taking the racing line, accelerating out of corners) then you are doing it wrong. In essence, taking a corner at a speed that can only result in drifting should not surprise the driver when they result in a drift.
Do people still play this online? Sigh at being no popular good racing games for pc :(
