Cheap electricity rates? Adelaide 5000

Hey guys,

I'm moving to Adelaide next Friday, and I have to set up electricity at my apartment. I'm new to this, so I'm not sure what I need to look for in a supplier, nor do I know the suppliers in Adelaide.
Being a university student, my priorities are of course the price and the contract length. Since the school calendar ends in December, a no-contract or short contract would be best.
I've also heard that some suppliers offer discounts for paying the bill on time as well?

Would really appreciate your help!

    Hi,
    Can't comment on initial connection prices - but this page should help you compare rates. Once you're at the page of results you can select 'no contract'.

    I'm with Origin for both electricity and gas (with the 25% green power thing), my last bill (actual reading rather than estimate:

    Usage (kWh)(0-309): 291 Charge rate (c/kWh): 30.73 Total: $89.42
    Service to property: $66.88
    Green product charges: $03.84
    Total Ex GST: $160.06

    No contract that I'm aware of (although I have been using them for 3 years or something)…
