I've got a .com domain name up for renewal in a few days that I bought for .50c, it's going to cost me $12 to renew for a year. My hosting for said site is elsewhere, I believe it will be $13 to transfer it to them.
Anyone know of any cheaper options for the renewal of my domain name?

Namecheap has the best standard renewal prices I've seen for .COM ($10.69, it's $9.69 to transfer and you get 1 year added).
Otherwise, type the name of your registrar plus "renewal coupon code" in Google. Some renewal coupons allow multiple years at the cheaper prices. You might be able to save a dollar with namecheap "transfer" coupons if a coupon is still valid. I used the $5AUD transfer special a week or two ago but it's probably over now. Unfortunately crazydomains has expensive renewal prices despite having cheap domain registration (up until early last year you could buy 10 years for $30!).
