Noticed the price drop on DSE, wouldn't be getting one myself. But if anyone is in the market, it looks like the lowest out of the couple that I checked.

It's excellent. Very well made and very fast. Camera is a decent quality and the built in mic/speaker handles calls nicely when I can't get to my phone in a pinch. Surprisingly people don't even seen to notice when I am making a call from the watch as I guess they see your hand up near your ear and take it for granted that you are on a phone.
I previously had the Smartwatch 2 from Amazon but it feel apart on me after a week and also randomly reset and wouldn't charge sometimes so I returned it for a refund.

So I'm the only one who thinks that wearing an egg-sized watch that makes you look like one of the characters from Spy Kids, is not a good look?
Never mind the fact that these do nothing useful; they're basically a second screen for your smartphone that relays information from your smartphone to the display on your wrist.
If there was wrist-mounted GPS or something, I could see the appeal, but as it stands now they are essentially very expensive neon signs announcing your penultimate nerd status the rest of us.

They should sell it for $50, not sure why they sell it at the current price as you can get a mid range phone for this kind of price.
Why would you compare it to a phone? People said iPads were a waste when we already had smart phones and now look at the tablet market. These are only going to get more popular and this is the pick of the current bunch.
"and this is the pick of the current bunch" - debatable… locked down to specific Samsung devices & battery life is not that great. I think the Gear 2 will be a massive upgrade both aesthetically & functionally
Battery lasts me two days. It's no where near as bad as rumors say.
Hopefully the rumors are true and Nokia release a smart watch :)

Get a pebble steel instead. Same price and it's more like an extention of your phone, than a wrist phone like the gear is.
The new model is rumoured to be being announced around February 24 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Although details are very thin on the ground it will probably be around 20% thinner and lighter and sport an improved screen, cpu and camera for a similar RRP (or perhaps even less if they attempt to bolster sales that way.)
