Fantastic price for a good X-series zoom (for Fujifilm cameras X-M1, X-E2, X-T1, etc).
$299.95 includes a Gorillapod Hybrid (bendy tripod supporting upto 1kg) worth $40. Shipping is $9.95 or free pickup from Ted's stores. Total steal at this price.
The FUJINON XC50-230mmF4.5-6.7 OIS is the budget zoom in the X series line up. While it doesn't have the metal build and aperture ring of it's bigger, faster and much more expensive brother, the XF55-200, the picture quality is still excellent, it has IS, weighs a mere 375g, and has an extra 30mm of reach. Given the ISO performance of the X-series, the very average speed of the lens isn't as big an issue as it once was.
Ha Ha this is a good price. May be it is Teds revenge to DigiDirect's bargain basement sale on the X-E1. May be it is another deal Fuji Australia did with Teds.
IMO this is one of the hardest item to move in the current Fuji product list. People who own the XF kit is unlikely to sacrifice the optical quality to an XC lens. People who have the xC kit are mainly consumer level user and they will hard to find the need for this lens.
Having said that it is a good price, next cheapest on staticice is about $425 excluding delivery.
