Hey guys. My Rangehood needs an upgrade as we have had it for bloody years and its feral. We got one of those crappy retractable ones. Do any of you have a fixed or canopy one that works really well and easy to clean?? Cheers guys :)

In my opinion, it's a trade-off between extraction volume vs noise level.
It's pointless buying a rangehood with awesome extraction volume (at max speed) if you only ever use it at low speed cause even on low it sounds like a 747 taking off in your kitchen!
Try to hear them (across the speed ratings) in the display room, and if not possible, research their dB rating.Definitely a +1 to stay away from the "recycling" units.. what a pointless waste of time!
Smeg has a pretty good reputation.
Always take the extraction volume rate into account when you buy a rangehood..The larger the air volume, the more it will suck and capture the nasty cooking oils…But, be sure to compare the noise levels for each model…
I've used robinhood in 2 houses and they seem to be good for the price. I would, however, stay away from those so called "recycled air" units…A good rangehood that can suck air is only as good if it can expel air out of the other end - so a flue is a must.
A chinese company called golden hood also makes a good rangehood with its unique oil capture cups mounted on the unit without no air filter. This design is most suited for those who do heavy frying…
My 2 cents.
