Does anyone has a recommendation for an 8-pin charging cable for ipad 4? One that doesn't take 8-9 hrs to charge ipad from a 12W charger.

Apparently it does make a difference, the genuine cable 'connects' better and it also has a chip inside of the cable to tell the device its genuine and because of this chip, it charges faster..
A full charge on the iPad 3 and 4, with the included 10 or 12 watt chargers, runs about 5 or 6 hours. Charging takes longer if you're using the iPad while it's charging. The long charging time is unavoidable because of the large battery (~42Wh) in the iPad 3 and 4, vs the ~25Wh in the non-Retina iPad 2 and the ~32Wh in the more energy-efficient iPad Air.
As kathmandu-jeff says, the cable makes no difference.
The charging cable shouldn't make any difference. Are you using the apple charger and cable? Apparently with iOS 7 iPads and iPhones charge slower on non genuine chargers.
