Selling my car

Hi Guys

I am selling my car on carsale.com.au. Couple days ago, I received an email (pls see below for the details) from a guy who works in NZ says he is happy with the price and want to pay me via Paypal, without any inspections!!!

Is it a scam?

Thanks for getting back,i'm cool with the price likewise the condition as described on the advert,i work with New Zealand Oil and Gas (NZOG) and we are presently offshore in New Zealand Taranaki Basin on kupe project.We do not have access to phone at the moment and that's why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.Please does it have any more or additional history I should be aware of and where is it located at the moment.I am buying it for my first son who just graduated ontop of his class at Charles Darwin University in NT ,He studied Building Design & Architecture. I want it to be the perfect graduation gift and a surprise package for him and I will really appreciate if you can email more info.

Regarding the payment,i will be paying you through PayPal linked up with my ANZ bank account,please get back to me with your paypal details so i can process the payment,you can alternatively send your bsb acct name and number if you have no PayPal acct.I have been introduce to a reputable shipping company that will handle the delivery in Darwin after the whole fund has been cleared into your acct.

      Yeah, they always seem to work in Oil and Gas….
      I guess it's to plant the seed in the seller's mind that "I have so much money, that I can afford to gamble buying a car sight unseen".

    Clearly a scam. The words "cool with the price" when buying a used car always sounds suspicious.

    agree to sell it to him.

    you'll get an email from p4ypa11.con saying money has been paid in to your account. but there will be a problem with the transport people and he'll "pay" some extra money and then ask you to forward that extra money to them for him.

    just play with him for fun. say you'll upgrade the stereo to a 15" dash mounted led tv. make some crap up. say you once gave Bono a lift when you saw him hitchhiking. Bono was drunk and threw up in the back seat. there is still a stain that looks like Jesus!

    though i feel sorry for his son who will be so disappointed that he is not really getting a car as a graduation present :(
