Weber Q305 BBQ - Cheapest Deal Possible?

Bonjour fellow OzB's

I am hoping someone could locate me the cheapest possible price on a Weber Family Q 305 BBQ using a gas bottle.

So far I have seen around $667 range..

Any help would be REALLY appreciated =)

Thanks!

What's special about this bbq? can't u get the $99 ones fr K mart?

    • True, there are even cheaper ones at Bunnings and what not - however I'd prefer a BBQ that will last a while. I have purchased cheaper ones in the past and if they don't fall over from the weather, rust will eat them regardless.

Get what you pay for type thing!

      • if I were u, i'll prob get a cheapy one and change it every 2-3 yrs… not meant to be environmental friendly but these things will attract cockcroaches if they're old enough anyway

  • 667$ for BBq.. quite happy with my 40$ one that I bought from Bigw.. I think I will be well off even if it last for a year rather than spending that much money now

My Mother in Law has one of these and I have cooked on it many times. To tell you the truth, it is by far the worst BBQ I have ever cooked on. The ring that carries the flame is far too close to the top grill and so you end up with vulcanised food directly above the ring and outside of the ring the food is raw. Because of the poor distribution of heat (with or without the lid on) you must constantly move the food around which ties you down to the BBQ if you have friends over.
Also much of the BBQ is plastic and although it has lasted well, it is handled carefully and lives back in it's box when not being used. This BBQ is also a pig to clean, I guess they all are but this one I particularly despise.
Personally I think something cheaper would offer up the same or most likely better cooking experience than the weber unless you want to show your friends how much you are prepared to pay for a BBQ.

The Weber q is the best cooking appliance I have ever bought. Above poster is clearly a poor cook. I've never had anything but good results with whatever I've cooked on it.
With or without the lid on? Shows you don't know how to use it- the lid is ALWAYS closed on the Q. If you're burning food then learn to vary the flame and understand indirect cooking.
They are worth every cent. They're a bargain at full price. They use tiny amounts of gas- I use it twice a week 52 weeks a year which uses 2x 9kg cylinders a year. One benefit over stabdard 4-burners is that there are no cool zones, and convection causes even the edges to be hot. You can use 100% of the grill area and everything cooks evenly.
The build quality is sensational and the customer service second to none. I have friends with 10yo Qs which are as good as new. One guy at work rang Weber after 2 yrs saying the grill had rust- a new one was couriered out free the next day.

The weber q 305 is a top BBQ. I can now cook restaurant quality steaks, lamb chops, and the most juiciest bbq chicken on it.

I used a cheap $99 twin burner flat top for over ten years and the pain I went through just to cook a batch of sausages was overwhelming - 40 minutes whereas the weber will cook them in about 10 minutes with nice grill bar marks.

OP, if you have a visa card with reward points, redeem the bbqs galore gift cards.

  • Missus convinced me to get family Weber with our credit card points converted to BBQ Galore vouchers. And now I can't recommend it enough, great BBQ, get so many compliments on things cooked on it, easy to clean etc etc.
Only problem with BBQ galore is that not all stores stocked Webers, so took family on a day trip from Brisbane to Toowoomba

  • Just seen negative weber comments above, obviously didn't read the manual as talks about it being useless with lid up or down

  • Not to go offtopic, but I'm considering something like this for a BBQ

Why would I pay the extra ~$300 for a weber BBQ?

    • I would suggest that you taste test the meat off a weber q and one from those 4 burners. I can taste the difference and the meat cooked from the weber q is far more juicier and has that smokey flavor infused into the meat probably due to the low profile design of the lid.

The weber q is closed lid cooking so you might need to adjust you're traditional bbqing methods.
