is this the sounddock III portable RRP $399 down to $229?
Can you explain what the 'ask nicely' involves to get down to that price?
Last week I couldn't get the JB guy to pricematch (or even close) against the Logitech markdown to $199 (from the logitech website) for the Boombox. I'm normally pretty good with the (melo)dramatics too…
Sounds better, maybe, but nowhere near the volume.
This is a good price for this speaker (it has been better though). If you know of a good deal for the Bose then it probably deserves a post.

normal price is $249, but can get it down a bit more if you hussle a bit
Just picked one up from Keswick, Sa. There's 1 left. I did notice the model number ends with 245 and the latest model ends 304 but I don't know the difference so what the hell.
Got one from jb around sep/oct last year for same price. DSE also has these for $199 every now and then.
Ended up returning mine - the battery lasted half as long as advertised, sound level dropped after a couple of hours (supposedly to conserve battery life) and occasional Bluetooth dropouts were a PITA. Various forums indicated these were common problems but supposedly others have had good experiences. Seems hit and miss.

i think the bose sounds better than this. can get a jb if ask nicely for $229 ;)
