This (valentine's day) weekend we have a deal running for $25 off our M9P Second Generation earphones, making them $14.99 plus postage. This is our lowest-ever price on these.

The M9P Second Generation earphones are available in three colors - Red, Pearl (white), and Gunmetal.

The M9 was the model that started it all for MEElectronics back in 2008, and the second generation M9P delivers the award-winning M9 sound with a number of new features including tangle-resistant flat cable, angled housings, and our latest inline remote, microphone, and universal volume control.

Use coupon code RedWhiteGunmetal at checkout for the discount. All prices in USD. Limit 3 per order. Offer expires February 11th, 2014 at midnight PST.

Standard 1st class postage to Australia is $8.95 and does not change whether you buy one, two, or three units.

Delivery times vary but are typically between 10 and 20 business days for the standard shipping method. If you need to hit a specific delivery date, we recommend using FedEx shipping, which is available at an additional cost and typically delivers in just a few days.

Compatibility: the M9P headset works with devices from Apple, Blackberry, HTC, LG, and Motorola, as well as newer models from Nokia and Samsung. Certain older Samsung phones, such as the first-generation Galaxy S, as well as older Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones, may require an adapter. The volume control works with all devices. Visit our Microphone/remote info page for more info.

  • Price looks great, any reviews on Gen 2… ?

  • Looks good, just ordered a pair. Cheers!

  • Lost my 1st generation M9Ps a few days ago and they were great, perfect timing for this deal. Ordered 3 pairs, thanks Mike!

    • I hope those first-gen M9Ps find a good home. Glad the timing worked out!

Thanks Mike. Ordered a couple because… bargains

  • ordered red.

the tri-pack brainwavz beta i ordered from MP4 Nation are shit :/

  • Thanks! Grabbed 2. Have been waiting for the 'normal' headphones to go on sale for a good while now.

  • Might stick with my new A151s - by Zeus they sound good and fit well. Almost as good as my $200 cans.
    Thanks MEElec

    • Glad you're enjoying your A151s!

  • Coupon code "RedWhiteGunmetal " is not valid.

Looks like you have an extra space in there at the end.

      • Yep, you're right. Looks like the order has gone through now.
        Thanks.

        • Great, thanks for your order!

Do you intend to put up more deals on the balanced armature based earphone again? I missed the previous sales

    • Currently low inventory on the BA models but we should have more in the spring so I'll do one then.

      • +3

        in the spring

Remember this is an Australian forum. :) Unless you actually do mean September!

        • Whoops, better be specific - March/April.

Bit hard to wrap my head around spring in September.

        • That's when it's supposed to be, and drive on the correct side of the road - the left, AND use metric measurements (I cannot believe the US still use clunky old imperial). :-)

Got the M-Duo from the last offer and they are indeed much more bass oriented than what I was using before, and seem to have more stereo separation. Shame the cord remote doesn't do volume though.

        • Gah, totally agree on metric. There's a reason we use the decimal system for almost everything else.

The M-Duo has a passive crossover circuit built-in. What our analog volume controls, like the one on the M9P, do is raise the resistance in the cord of the earphones to lower the volume. With a single-driver earphone there's no significant changes to the sound, but when you have a crossover the sound can change as you adjust the volume. It's typically very minor changes to the sound signature, but for fear of offending audiophile types it's worth being cautious with analog volume controls on balanced armature and multi-driver earphones.

Love my first gen M9P's they are still going strong. Note with M31's and M-Duo's (and an unopened set of M2's) I think I will run down the inventory first. The great thing about in ear phones is that people don't really Nick them. I had that issue with standard buds

  • gotta be worth a crack at this price - thanks for that.

  • Impressed with MEElec. I've bought 3 earphones from them in the past. One had a fault after a few months of usage but Mike replaced it with a brand new one for free (with very quick postage).

Will be looking to replace my current M9P with the v2 in the future.

  • Thanks Mike, Just pulled the trigger on this after many good MEE deals posted on OzB. Grabbed 2 pairs.

The Sennheisers i have have broke twice in the 2 year warranty (I'm buying these in anticipation of the 2nd replacement breaking). Aint buying them again.

  • How do these compare to the Skullcandy Ink'd 2.0? They're the best in-ear's I have used (I don't spend big bucks on earphones) but wondering if these M9P's are better.

    • Buy a pair and find out :) We all have different hearing and notions of what sounds good. Only your ears will know if they're better or not.

I just bought 2 pairs, still happily using a 1st gen set and I suppose with any IEM, how you fit/position em in your ear determines a LOT on how good/bad they can sound.

  • Any plans on discounting some of your more bass-ish range. Something similar to klipsch s4?

    • The dual-driver M-Duo (http://www.meelec.com/MEElectronics_M_Duo_Dual_Driver_In_Ear…) would be our S4 competitor quality-wise. It doesn't have more bass than the M9 but overall sound quality is better, with the separate subwoofer really keeping the bass out of the way of everything else. I think a few of the M-Duo reviews on amazon compare them to the S4.

I posted a half-price deal on the M-Duo two weeks ago I think. Can still price match it if you send me a PM.

      • Pm sent

  • Do these have a fastener between the inline controls and the earphones, like the S6P Sport ones? I can't tell from the pictures on the site.

    • Yes, there is a cable slider on these.

  • I bought one today morning Can I add one more to my order rep?

    • +1

Sure, just send me your order number via email or private message. We can either have you buy a new one in a separate transaction or refund your order and have you place a new one for two units.

  • Loving the A161P….might order a couple of pairs.. :)

  • Anyone from Perth (WA) willing to combine the order so we can save on postage?

    • Yeah, I don't mind. PM me to arrange, cheers.

      • Do you come to the city for work?

  • From the things I've read they're pretty cheaply made earphones, you get what you pay for so don't expect anything good.

  • Have 2 of the originals. Will probably buy one of these for the in-line volume control. My only complaint with the originals is that I found the cord too long - gets in the way and a bit of a hassle - way longer than the couple of Samsung ones that have come with my devices. Are these cords the same length ?

    • Yes, sorry. Rather have it too long than too short.

      • OK. Not a biggy. Bought 2. Seem to have lost one of my originals anyway. Thanks.

  • Rep,
    Any sales on AF62?

    • It's currently out of stock - we'll be bringing out a newer revision in April with a number of updates including aptX support, more comfortable ear pads, and even longer battery life.

  • would the nexus 5 fall under the compatibility with the LG devices?

    • Yep, definitely works with the Nexus 5. If you use poweramp or another aftermarket media player you get next track/previous track functionality, too.

  • Hey mike

Just wondering, my use would involve mostly listening to podcasts (think talk radio) and hip hop. How well suited to these would these earphones be?

    • I second this question. I listen to a lot of podcasts, whether on a train or walking on the street so would like to know how well the isolation is for this form of audio.

Some comments on Amazon mention the controller to be a bit bulky/heavy. Is it heavier than the stock standard Apple controller? Or barely noticeable?

      Thanks

      • The remote is larger than the Apple controller because the volume control is an analog slider and not just two buttons (which would only work with Apple devices). You can see it up close about a minute into this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgc2tyyOzjA

Isolation is good, especially if you can use the double-flanged eartips. They are pretty well-sealed - there's a small vent on the back but it doesn't compromise isolation. If you've used an in-ear earphone of this size and approximate shape most likely it isolated similarly to the M9P.

        • oh right so this doesn't control the device volume only the earphones' volume?

edit: nevermind. I read the review on your product link.

        • thanks Mike, just ordered!

    • Should work well, maybe even a bit overkill if podcasts are your primary use. It highly depends on what sort of earphones you're coming from. They do have enhanced bass and good clarity for the price.

  • these earphones are awesome value. I left them in my jeans and put it in the washing machine and still works! Happened twice :p

  • Hi Mike, looks like I just missed out on the M6 from a couple of weeks ago. Any chance there will be another deal on the M6 any time soon?

    • Don't have a plan for one at this point since the last one was just last week. I can price match it with a coupon if you send me a private message or email.

  • bought 2, very good price. By the way, when will you have deal on Air-Fi Venture Bluetooth Wireless Headphones, I missed last two.

    • +1

Unfortunately the Venture ran out of stock following the last promo. Should have more in late March or April so I'll do one then.

  • hi, any more sale for the m-duo? i miss the last one couple week ago….

    • +1

Not planning another one for a bit but you can PM or email me for a price match of the last deal if you like.

  • got mine today.. and after testing them out.. i gotta ask myself why i always succumb to the ozbargainer in me and keep buying budget in-ear headsets when my Creative EP-630i's are the best i've ever had

  • Just got my pair, the right side sounds softer and when I touch it, it crackles. How do i get an exchange?

edit: all good, mike has responded already via email.

  • Got my order today. Overall I'm happy with the sound and build quality, but the first pair I tested (ended up buying three pairs) had a faulty button (unresponsive when used) which is a bummer.

Hopefully their warranty/support is fairly hassle free.
