want to buy few games from GAME in the uk. but on the check out VAT is still charged. i thought that VAT wasnt to be charged for transactions outside of EU?
i sent them a msg and they advise that i will have to claim it from here.
any one experiences with game on postage timing and VAT?
Yeah I asked them and made a similar post a while back. I never went through with my purchase because according to some posts we are ineligible to claim for some reason so they're just trying to get more in their pocket.
I asked one of the UK disc-sellers about VAT once. Basically couldn't get it deducted. It might have been wowhd.co.uk.
found dvd.co.uk ( base.co.uk) they dont charge VAT but didnt have the games i wanted
base.com do indeed deduct VAT, after you have given them your details.

When I was in the UK (November) I bought a couple of games and a 3DS XL (gift) from there and asked about getting VAT refunded, they told me to just take receipt to airport. Got to the airport and they told me I had been misinformed and the store should have printed me out a VAT form in store that I needed to get the refund. I was not too happy, worse still I had acted upon these instructions and took it for granted it was the truth and was expecting around 500 - 600 pounds refunded from other purchases…
Game.co.uk did not refund my VAT either.
Was dissapointed by this. But the customer service lady I spoke to the second time on their live chat system was really helpful, so I had that going for me.

They're being dodgy about it. I dont't think you can claim it from here. Seems to be a case of take it or leave it though. :(
