Free Jerky Sample from Aussie Jerky (Requires Self Addressed, Stamped Envelope)

50

I came across this offer from Aussie Jerky whereby they will send a sample of their jerky if you send a stamped, self-addressed envelope. The info for this offer is on the fAQ/ Free Sample link on the page.

While you're not going to get a 'good feed' from this sample, it at least allows you to sample the product before you buy - good for those (like me) who wouldn't buy a larger quantity of a product when you have no idea what it's like.

Can I have a free sample?
Yes, we'd be happy to send you a sample of our Beef Jerky, please send a stamped, self addressed, normal sized envelope to:
    Aussie Jerky
    P.O. Box 4193
    East Burwood
    Victoria 3151
we'll send back a sample for you to try straight away.
We're confident you will find our products to be a taste revelation and a world away from the usual offerings found in retail outlets. To contain costs we need to restrict the size of our samples to individual taste testers. (We can't send enough for you and all of your mates to try).

    i.e. OzBargain

    • lol yep!

    • well you didnt expect them to send you a 15kg bag for you and all your ozbargain mates, did you?

what they are saying essentially is one sample per person.

I'm pretty sure btraynes was making a joke hence "ie ozbargain"

Couldn't be ass'd sending in a self addressed envelope so i just made an order of the original beef jerky 200g. But yes i agree with the site, most beef jerky is remanufactured mystery meat

    • my jerky just came in, its ALRIGHT.. wouldn't be buying it again though. about $27 for 200 grams… i'd rather buy a steak for that much with a serve of chips and a pot.

so essentially it will cost you $1.20 in stamps. hopefully the sample size is worth more than that.

    • Well you have to send an envelope inside an envelope, which means the outer envelope has to be at least slightly bigger than the inner one..

You know you can fold envelopes, right?

        • That's going to look shitty.

I hope you all realise that they are taking your DNA from the licked stamp/envelope, and will use it to clone you.

    Just saying.

    • +4

and then make jerky out of your clone? Awesome!

    • use self-adhesive stamps and envelopes to protect yourself against DNA theft

Use prepaid envelopes, and also protect yourself from postage increases.

      Proof?

      • it's all there in the National Enquirer

        • Wow, you really have to be super vigilant when it comes to identity theft these days.

    • Yep, that's what happened with Emperor Nimballa.

  • Costco has 255gm Australian beef jerky for $9.

    • +1

      -$2 today,now it's $6.99

  • Thanks OP, I'll give them a go!

I've never really been into beef jerky and not sure what the big deal is, but their website sounds pretty convincing. For a stamp and envelope I'm prepared to give it a go.

    • Actually…. if this stuff is any good, I'd be happy for a group buy with anyone from Canberra (not exactly cheap… but then again it is real meat, and thats never cheap).

Stay tuned here for taste test results first though ;).

      • update: plus vote renegged, sample has never arrived :(.

waste of time, waste of two stamps and two envelopes.
a shame, because I really wanted to try.
