If you go to law firms that will definitely what you will need to pay.
Then I found a retired lawyer from the society of notary website who charged me only a flat fee of $80.
You might just want to search their names in Sydney or nearby suburbs, and look for names (not law firms) with home addresses. Just give them a call and ask for their fees.
Cheers
ps I live in Qld, so not too sure if it will apply to NSW.
I've used these guys in the past for notary services found them good https://sbsolicitors.com.au/notary-public-melbourne/.
This isn't something worth going around, trying to look for a bargain. Just get it done by whoever is qualified and nearest to you.
$110 is the recommended fee set by the notary representative body for most documents, so I doubt you'd find cheaper. There would be no incentive to charge less than what's recommended unless there is heaps of competition. Since there is a limited number of public notaries and they tend to do it on the side of a proper full-time job (so don't need the money and are likely busy anyway), I don't like your chances. Maybe someone can recommend a semi retired professional or similar who is willing to do it cheaper.
My source: the law firm where I work has a public notary and this is what I've picked up.
