Ali Baba in Blacktown had a big sign saying $5 regular Beef Kebabs on Tuesday. Not sure if it's National.

While the site doesn't have a halal certification icon, I would guess that's why. But why does it matter? They don't sell duck, camel, kangaroo or crocodile, but that's OK?
But why does it matter?
Because I like pork… It tastes better and it's healthier.
And my local supermarkets all have beef, lamb, chicken and pork sections, but I've never seen a duck, camel, kangaroo or crocodile section.
Jamie Oliver agrees…
Lame. Will you yell at any kebab shop "no pork" if wasn't on the internet? And throw the Jamie Oliver quote at them?
No, they'll just get less customers.
Actually many supermarkets have a kangaroo section.
Also is pork "healthier" than chicken? I wouldn't think there is much difference between the two. Either way complaining they don't have pork is rather lame, most of these type of places don't from my experience. I wouldn't be against a pork version, i just wouldn't have a hissy fit about it. If they don't feel they have the market demand for it then that is up to them.
Did you complain there is no pork burger in the hungry jacks offers? You probably did…

The winner is … pork

We are talking kebabs here, not hamburgers… :P
Seeing as though we're using the Internet to prove points, I present this:

About the author of that article, Dr. Mercola …
Phyllis Entis, a microbiologist and food safety expert, highlighted Mercola.com as an example of websites "likely to mislead consumers by offering one-sided, incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading information.
Hmm you can get kangaroo kebabs in Sydney CBD.. its more that the other kebabs in the store. I think its around $9

Best kebabs in Melbourne…
http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/71/1710478/restaurant/Melbourne/…
THE BEST in Melbourne! If are in the Oakleigh area, do yourself a favor and try this!
Some funny and not so glowing reviews ;-)
Good point, but let your taste buds decide, not some keyboard warrior on urban spoon lol.
In all honesty it's THE best in Oakleigh hands down! I believe some of the negative comments are from other souvo shop owners in the area (scared of competition?).
You're just being trolled. No pork kebabs around here in inner-city Melb (Collingwood, Fitzroy, etc.)

I had some at Jim's Tavern on Johnston St last year… yummmmm….
Lol, I don't know whose logic is more flawed. JV's troll bait (Pork Kebabs? Really?) or Alizzan's facepalm attempt to group the niche crocodile and camel meat alongside pork (one of the big 4 types of meat) in order to make some kind of a bizzare point. It's Australia here mate - pork is not a minor market.
Pork Kebabs? Really?
Yes really. Why is that so strange?
If you ever travel through the southern Mediterranean, that's all you'll find.
Pork makes the best kebabs, followed by lamb. Beef kebabs are just wrong…
Someone should make a Kanagabab, that would be a pretty good australian spin. Better than the erroneous beetroot = australian thing.
Someone should make a Kanagabab
Doner Camel would be better value…
We have plenty of camels and kangaroos here i guess. Stuff a kangaroo into a camel and make a "mixed" one.
From what i hear camel is pretty tasty.
Don't you have to buy in minimum amounts of, say, 10,000?
You can get $5 kebabs at Flemington markets every weekend and thats with the lot too.
just called Macquarie, and they confirmed they have this $5 offer today.
Thank OP.Kebab assumes it is from the middle east - where the majority are Muslims and don't eat pork as part of their religion. But what JV linked to was Souvlaki - which is actually greek, and they eat pork. In the end, it is some meat and salad on flat bread.
But somehow, I think JV knew this already :)
But what JV linked to was Souvlaki
I prefer the pork gyro… :)
Jamie Oliver calls them 'Wicked Kebabs'
What's the quality of the Ali baba kebabs? Last time I tried one it was very very salty.
Salty to preserve the meat for a month or two.
Not the greatest.
Aren't we missing the BIG picture! These are the same clowns who would not honor most people's free kebab offer a few months ago! https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/116168
WTF is wrong with you people, DON'T eat this shit!
Beef, chicken, lamb but no pork ???
