My mum bought an iphone 4s from jbhifi a few days ago. Being on a TPG sim card, she asked the sales person if the iphone is unlocked and would work with that sim. When she gets home she isn't able to use her TPG sim card. I asked her if she asked for an unlocked phone and she told me yes.
So I gave it a shot and it comes up sim not valid, this iphone doesnt support this carrier, so I sent her back to get it replaced and they refused. So she comes back to me saying she needed a telstra sim card to unlock it. but first off I read that you can unlock the iphone by restoring it to factory settings.
So I did that but no change, it still says the TPG sim is not valid. So I go to try my old telstra sim in it, and troubling it comes up and says replacement needed, this iphone is not able to complete this activation process and needs to be replaced.
So I've decided to head down to jbhifi and replace it for one that works, any ideas or help to stop them refusing to get this phone replaced?
Thanks Sam
You can always send it back to Apple for refund.
