EB Games - 50% Extra Game Trade-in Value for your Birthday (Level 3 members)

90

I thought that I would post this deal, since I have seen a few birthday deals posted on here lately, and this was really handy for me, in terms of getting rid of a lot of previous generation games.

So you basically sign up for an EB World card (which is free to do), and once you reach Level 3, you will be emailed this voucher on your birthday, which entitles you to an additional 50% trade-in value on games. You have 31 days to use the voucher, after it is emailed to you.

Voucher is unique so it's no deal?

    • This is a deal that you get emailed on your birthday. There have been a few deals like this posted lately.

    Excellent. Thanks OP

  • What's the average value of games? Especially older games?

    • Usually 1/3 to 1/4 of what they sell it at.

  • What's with the red bar?

    • Full name and card number.

  • It's only for level 3 and above. So you need to buy a game informer sub to bump you up to level 3 or spend a heap of money to get to level 3
    Details here: https://ebgames.com.au/EBWorld/about

    • Sorry, didn't notice that, I just got to Level 3 through purchases. Post updated, will just leave it up, in case there are any other gamers who happen to have a Level 3 card.

    • and you still take a hit on whatever game you trade …50% extra of not much isn't that much

      • Wouldn't recommend doing it on newer games, though a lot of people would be looking at getting rid of older generation games, which aren't worth enough to sell separately on ebay.

        • Even older games are worth more on Ebay than what EB Games will give you…

If you like accepting $10 for a game you paid $50-$80 for then go right ahead :P

It takes 4,500 carrots to level up to Level 3. If you strictly purchased new games, it would cost $4,500 before one would be eligible to receive a 50% extra trade voucher… by which time your current games would trade for next to nothing :)

    • You could spend $30 on a 12 month subscription to Game Informer magazine / a Level 3 card if you wanted it for a lot less, lol. I have spent quite a bit of money at EB Games, not sure if it was that much though.

    • I dont think it ends up being $4500 all the time. There are 'double carrot' and 'free carrot' promotions all the time.

But still. It's quite a bit of money to get there.

  • sorry, repeat of above
