Flingshot + Audioinvasion Concerns

It has come to my attention that Flingshot have not been responding to customers. They have not fulfilled orders but are continuing to accept orders from their website.

It seems Flingshot has jumped ship to a new company by the name of Audio Invasion who are throwing around a few dodgies.

  1. Flingshot is Audio Invasion - no doubt - see this removed deal by Flingshot.

  2. Audio Invasion has changed their address since it was posted on Whirlpool from Bondi to Zetland. Both addresses are apartment blocks without their unit numbers unlisted so mail will not be delivered. See this and compare to this

  3. Phone number listed on the Audio Invasion website is disconnected or rings out according to Whirlpool.

Personally I have had no problems with Flingshot; customer service was great and they were able to source products fairly quickly for me. Obviously something has happened behind the scenes and it is unfortunate that they have resorted to these tactics.

  • I bought a laptop which needed a swap. I sent it back to them a month ago, but still have not received the replacement. The last I heard from them was Jan 7th. I'm getting a bit worried now.

    Another friend ordered a laptop from them at the end of Dec. She still hasn't received anything or heard back from them.

    I just wanted to update and apologize to everyone who has been waiting on orders or refunds.

    All outstanding orders were refunded yesterday and we have ceased trading after we received confirmation from two of our suppliers that our accounts would be closed. We have been working to secure stock from alternate sources for the last two months and the majority of orders have been fulfilled. There were around 30 orders for which we simply could not get stock from alternate sources and these we have refunded. We can’t go into exact details unfortunately as to why this happened but suffice to say that it was unexpected and we tried everything possible to negotiate to have the accounts re-opened.

    The business has been in trouble for the last few months for several reasons one of which was that one of the founders passed away suddenly and unexpectedly a few months ago. Obviously this is no excuse for the poor customer service and lack of clarity around the situation but it was a significant contributor along with our strained relationships with our suppliers.

    Kieran and Kain Warwick who had been involved with the company sourcing our musical equipment side of the business both decided to leave when we made the decision to discontinue musical equipment on the site back in September. They have a new site called Audio Invasion that is apparently doing well and I wish them all the best. And obviously would like to apologize for them having become caught up in this issue. Kieran spoke with me yesterday after several customers called him directly and urged me to make the decision to close down the site. In hindsight that was the right decision and we should have done it much earlier.

    Again I am extremely sorry that our customer service has declined to this point, we genuinely had no intention of letting things get this far but there were some factors which were out of our control which we hoped could be resolved and unfortunately that has turned out to not be the case. We have definitely made mistakes and relied on information, which it turns out, was not accurate. I think as you can see from numerous posts on this thread that our customer service was in the past quite good but obviously this situation got away from us and we should have made a decision much earlier to cease trading.

    When you have spent almost two years building something it is tough to just let it go and we definitely dragged this out longer than we should and for that again I apologize.

    Anyone with outstanding orders has been refunded and should have had notification from Paypal on Friday, we expect the refunds to clear by Monday or Tuesday of next week. If you haven’t received an email please send an email to [email protected] and we send through a refund confirmation.

    We definitely want to thank everyone who supported the site since we launched, and again apologies to the small number of people who did not receive the orders they paid for in a timely fashion.
