Oral-B Triumph 5000 $129 (Was $239) @ Myer

70

Saw this when I went shopping for an electric toothbrush at the insistence of my dentist. Couldn't find one cheaper anywhere else online here or overseas.

The guide is a bit gimmicky but it's cheaper than the other lesser models and has more actual features too.

Features:
- On-board computer
- 3D technology
- Wireless LCD Screen
- 40,000 pulsations and 8 800 oscillations a minute
- 30 day money-back guarantee

Hope this is useful.

its good to take care of your teeth :)

    • So they keep telling me

  • +1

Is this the top of the range model?

    • Yes, there are two handle bundles etc, but this is their top of the range handle.

      • +2

Actually no. They have recently released the Oral B IQ7000 Triumph Black.

Oral-B says its limited edition, but I've seen it in Japan for ages…. so not sure how limited it is.

A good place to look is the shaver shop, they frequently have 50% off RRP for various models.

A well priced entry level model would be this one for example for $50:

    • You are right, I wasn't going to spend $300 or anywhere close to it on a toothbrush but with the significant discount on this I decided to pony up a little extra for the top of the range

  • Oral B cash back is over?

better wait for the cashback scheme. Last time I got this one at Target it cost me $70 after cashback.

  • You got this at the insistence of your dentist; Could I ask please what his reason was for this over a standard non-electric one?

    • +3

great to see the Amish are frequenting ozbargain and providing opinions!

Dentist told me the same, so I changed to electric and now I could never go back. My teeth are so much cleaner. I would highly recommend it.

    • It's cleaner than a manual toothbrush.. How many times can you brush up and down in a minute? Imagine you could do a few thousand strokes per minute? Theoretically a better clean right? Saves you time and effort also.

  • cashback starts on march 1st based on last year

  • It's not worth to spend more than $30 on an electric toothbrush. All electric toothbrushes do the same job, is to clean your teeth. You also need to floss your teeth plus rinse with mouthwash twice a day. Relying on an expensive toothbrush won't help much.

    • The more you pay, the faster it goes.

      Strange but true.

      (Also, faster is better).

      • +1

Agree, you can buy the cheapest oral-b version for $30. and they may all do the same job.
But people like more luxury stuff/features…
Just like cars, they can all get you from A to B…not sure if that's a good analogy!

I paid like $99 for this a few years ago from Amazon. Good toothbrush but it's pretty old now and this isn't a particularly compelling price. I'd recommend waiting for a good price on the IQ7000 or until they reintroduce cashback.

Note that the new version of the 5000 (this deal is for the old version) is only $148 at HN. http://www.harveynorman.com.au/oral-b-professional-care-triu…

yeah this model (the one with the display on the actual toothbrush) is super old. it should have been cleared years ago now. This is no bargain considering previous deals and the price of the current model which is no longer the top of the range.

Agreed. I purchased this toothbrush several years ago for around $100 with cashback.

It's still a great toothbrush and works just like out of the box. After trying many of the lower-end electric toothbrush I would highly recommend something on at least this level - The difference is noticeable.

The brush holder is a dust catcher, but I actually like the electronic guide - even if most of the time it's just a waterproof clock. The guide only shows you which quarter of your teeth you should be working on at the time, but if you follow the instructions and split those 30 seconds properly (10 seconds front, 10 seconds back, 10 seconds bottom) it's pretty reliable.

      • At least this level? Which is top of the range at the moment? You have a very level set in your mind on toothbrushes.

I also highly recommend these Triumph 5000 tooth brushes. There is no way I could go back to standard brushing. I recently went to the dentist for the first time in almost 3 years (I know.. BAD) and my dentist was very impressed. She didn't even need to use the cleaning tool! And I had only used the brush for 8 months prior!

I just love the clean feeling and my teeth have never been whiter and I haven't even used whitening tooth paste, just the polishing head.

I managed to pick mine up with a bonus handle + cash back for around $129 last year.

Highpojnt for $199 down from $229
