Pretty good price. Price in store still shows $899. You need to direct them to the online price.

That's a pretty expensive normal price. Can get a NEX 6 with 16-50mm for that :/

I'd like to know where from as well. I'm not seeing anywhere near $549 with the power zoom for a NEX-6.
'Normal' price for the Nex6 is $1249 with the 1650. However all Nex cameras are semi-discontinued products, easy to find it much cheaper these days.
I did a lot of searching before buying a Nex6 on the long weekend. JB HiFi was easily the best non-grey at $670 with their 15% discount. They also did 30% off a case and SD card (cheaper onkine but not by much). An online shop (HK stock) with their own warranty came in at $~25 cheaper on the Nex6. $549 is pie in the sky.
If you're considering the Nex series make sure you get hold of a camera and see if it feels right. I was weighing up the F3/3N, 5T and 6 but up on handling the 5T the decision was simple, despite the extra $$$. The 5T was far too small for my liking - apart from not having many facilities of the 6.
What made you choose the 6?

I meant $899 for a NEX 5T is really expensive ("Price in store still shows $899" according to OP). The best value I have seen for the NEX-6 is $999 with the triple lens kit from Teds.
The biggest advantage I think with the NEX 6 is the inbuilt EVF. Shooting in the sun is impossible with just an LCD screen. The EVF attachment for a NEX-5 costs $300+
Had a 5N then needed 6, as the screen alone was useless when shooting outdoors, needed the EVF. Also liked the extra grip height.
Agree the viewfinder is a huge plus. Also has a larger sensor iirc, extra controls, and has a size advantage for me as I indicated. Quite a few other pluses if you want to look closely at the specs and performance. Doesn't have a touch screen like the 5T.
The 5T also comes with a flash although it's not built-in.

I had the 7 and found the opposite. I hardly used the evf or the manual dials. The smaller size of the 5, the selfie mode for family shots, touch screen are more value to me over the 6. I would probably still even choose the 5t even if the 6 was the same price. Probably…
Ahh guys I think he was referring to the apparent normal price for the 5 of 899 being expensive, and being able to get a 6 for that amount.
sony is due to release the "a7000" to replace nex6/7 in the next couple of weeks. shall wait for more price drops in these nex models…
