Looking at either buying a couple of HIDs online or from the auto-electrician who can install. Depending on costs.
Has anyone had some installed recently? What was the price? Where did you go?

Thanks for the advice. I have a Ranger 2009 … yeah it has the PCM.
Just lined up a nudge bar from ebay that has mounting points. It is $300 compared to $800 local. I can install that myself. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nudge-Bar-Tube-Stainless-Steel-Fo…
Anymore advice on best priced lights? Possibly a combo of pencil and wide beam. Was suggested by my local to get the HID genesis 210s for $1150 (+ installation). Too pricy for me.
That's a good buy for the nudge bar.
Lightforce Striker 170. 35W HID. I find them enough for my need. Really good lights. It comes as a pair and you don't have to mix pencil and wide. Turning a dial adjusts it between pencil and wide. So you can have combinations any time you want. Up on the highway, adjust both as pencil. Twisties or slow bush driving, make both of them wide.
It also supports multiple lenses. Clear comes standard. You can grab yellow for dust/fog, blue for rain, etc.

35W version for $600 ish for the pair I think. And around the $900-$1000 mark for the 50W version.
I didn't risk installing my lights, took them to the local TJM shop to put them in.
Cheers. Am searching the world for the best deal on these lights then. Yep, will get them pro installed. How much did that cost if you remember?
No probs.
I paid $830 to the local TJM shop to have them fitted in, which included the price of the lights (think I paid $660 for the lights) and the remaining price included wiring kit and fitting.
Driving lights?
I have Lightforce Striker 170 on mine. It turns into spotlights or widespreads in 2 seconds by rotating a dial. I have the HID 35w version. Better light, less power consumption.
If you have an older model car which doesn't have any crazy ECU controlling all electrical connections, then they are quite easy to wire up and mount. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgpMXlcZrU4 is a good video to follow.
You will also need a wiring kit if you don't have one already. Check if your nudge/bull bar has mounting points.
Good luck.
