Yamaha YHT599AU Hometheater $999 (RRP $1599) with Free Shipping Australia-Wide @ Rio.com.au

80

Hi all,

I was looking for an all in one 7.1 surround sound system, and stumbled upon this. It was the one with the lowest price to feature ratio and all the other shops I looked at charged at least 1.3 times as much.

The receiver itself (RX-V675) has an RRP of $1099, so that plus 7.1 speakers + an additional pair of all weather outdoor speakers makes this system worthwhile at $999 (with free shipping).

Happy shopping!

    welcome!

Well, I can recommend the receiver RX-V675, I've got one and it's excellent. But I got mine for $599 from RIO on sale (inc free delivery), if you wait a bit i suspect you'll also be able to find a similar bargain.

That would leave you with $400 for the speakers. I couldn't comment on the quality of the speaker set included with this, but you may need stands etc etc as they're all bookshelf speakers.

    • Was that a EOFY sale?

      • Can't remember, but it would have been around that time, just over 7 months old.

FYI, only two of the speakers are outdoor speakers

This is cheap, really cheap, especially considering the size of the box this thing comes in is enormous…. like 150cm tall, and pretty darn wide and heavy too. The amp is definitely the best part of this package though. Also, the speaker package comes with all the speaker cable and sub cable, they are cheap quality though.

    • That's good to hear johnno1987! But is it just the cabling which is cheap/poor quality? Or are the speakers also poor? I found it hard to get any reviews of the whole package, but assumed they were fairly good.

The speakers sound pretty darn good when you turn them up. They like the extra power. I can't say the same for the sub though, it's pretty weak, especially at any kind of real volume.
