Lenovo are getting into the CNY festivities with 5% - 30% off ThinkPads/ThinkCentres. I believe that is their usualy sale price, but good for anyone who is looking to buy some stuff before getting back to uni or just feel like a new lappy!

Unfortunately the new X1 Carbon not included in this one, so will have to wait for another deal

I used to be a fan of thinkpad. But Lenovo just turns to less a less attractive.

I think it's really hard to justify the price now.

    • Yeh I think the thinkpad value hasn't been as great as in the past, although they still make some quality stuff in my experience. Haven't really dealt with their customer service though.

Just gotta wait for good deals to pop up imo. But I don't really get their business models, the base X1 Carbon starts at $1749 and not even FHD, a bit ridiculous (sexy device nonetheless).

      • The customer service/support has been terrible, not sure it has improved.

  • Still probably cheaper to get one forwarded from the US. When I got my x220t through priceusa it turned out to be $1100 all up, for a $2.5k model here.

    • ah wow that's bloody good, was the process pretty hassle free? i know people have enough trouble getting any warranty claims locally as well, so something i'd be wary of. otherwise, i mean with the savings you could probably just buy another one..

      • You need to use a forwarder like priceusa which charges an additional fee as lenovo will refuse to ship shipments to known shipito forwarding addresses.
Lenovo has international warranty on their thinkpads. I put through a warranty claim last year on mine, everything went fine but I can't speak for anyone else people.

      • Last T420 we got was less than half the local price . The Aussie dollar has tanked since then but still significantly cheaper if your happy with a refurb .

Why does Lenovo's laptops always look outdated? I mean sure the specs might be impressive, but why does it look like it's a laptop out of the 90s?

What business model do these guys operate on lol

Delete: on this special day,I could only say "Happy Chinese New Year!"

    • Lenovo is a Chinese company so why should they be be calling it a Luna sale, I don't see a problem?
