Just picked up this Sony SEL55210 zoom lens at BING LEE for $199 (best by $20+ that I could find). Seems standard BL price BUT the bonus is a 20 piece Bing Lee white Chinese dinner set (4 bowls, 4 small plates, 4 pr chopsticks, 4 chopstick stands for FREE, apparently to help celebrate Chinese New Year. Xin Nian Kuai Le!

Few same items (new) were sold under $200 on ebay before christmas.
I bought one of these from Kogan for $209 with free delivery a month back but I'd rather buy from Bing Lee. They've been good to deal with in the past.
The other cracking deal and possibly even better deal is the SEL50F18B (the 'B' is for black) for $199 (http://www.binglee.com.au/sony-sel50f18b-50mm-f-1-8-portrait…). I bought this from them a couple of weeks ago. They had limited stock at the time. Looks like they've got more stock. I was going to post this at the time but didn't because of the lack of stock. Really nice little portrait lens with low light performance. This with the 55-210 and you're just about set.

Nice price. The SEL50F18B is a better buy considering it's the black model and not the silver. Just checked Sony Australia website, and they don't have the Silver SEL55210 and SEL50F18 listed on there anymore. Only the black models listed there. Perhaps they are discontinuing the silver models which is why the sudden price drop on the silver models.

Those interested in the black model version of the SEL55210, Videopro has stock but no where near as good as the Silver price at BL. They currently selling it for $346.50 (still a good discount from retail of $499). You can try to see whether you can get them to bring the price down further by showing BL special on the Silver version. They won't drop it to the same price given BL is silver and theirs is Black which just have been released, but they may drop it a bit more.

Cosmetic. I don't mind silver because I like to flash my wealth. Seriously though some people hate silver on cameras. It doesn't particularly bother me either way, although I prefer black.
Well if you are using a zoom lens for stalking purposes, the silver does catch the light more.

In store or online? The dinner set is actually in a specially done Bing Lee blue box, pretty obviously a promotional product. My local store had a stack of them late yesterday. Apologies if it was a local deal only.
I checked with my Rhodes store and they said their stock for the dinner set wont arrive until tomorrow but they will hold it for me when it comes in.

Seems like the big discounts have been on the SEL50F18, SEL55210 only and I have seen the SELP1650 discounted heavily as well at Perth Sony store. I think they were selling it for $219 or $249 a couple of weeks ago.

Only saw the SELP1650 on sale and the SEL55210 if you buy a camera at the Perth Sony store. For the SEL50F18, you can order the silver at Videopro for $198 free shipping until today I believe or preorder at BL for the black for $198 + shipping.
Asked HN Melbourne to price match. They declined as Bing lee not in Victoria.
However the sales person offered $300 and told me to get it from Bing lee as this is still cheaper
