Fishpond - never again

So I know fishpond has a bad rep around here but some people have claimed to get some bargains from them without a problem so I thought I'd give it a go.

On the 3rd of Jan I bought some teeth whitening strips for $37. At the time they said 'in stock' and the order went through. The expected delivery date was the 21st Jan but I wasn't in a rush so I was fine with that.

Fast forward to the 23rd - I get an e-mail saying they are out of stock and that my money will be refunded. After almost three weeks of waiting they finally tell me that it's out of stock!?

Worst of all, I go to their website and the strips are clearly IN stock from the same supplier, but now at the price of $104!

Well, I've learned my lesson. I just hope my chromecast shows up.

    My chromecast was shipped after 3 weeks and did show up after 6 weeks only. Wouldn't buy from them again. Exactly same sort of thing as you described is happening with DX now:(

    That's terrible! I'm also slightly suspicious when they offer quite a low price on items you usually don't see big discounts from.

    That reminds me, I must unsubscribe to their emailing list. I'd rather buy fire insurance from Satan than order anything from Fishpond.

      Their mail outs occasionally give me ideas for gifts. I get a perverse pleasure purchasing them from the Book Depositary or Amazon.
      Fishpond took a month to email me about an out of stock item, finally refunding a week before xmas, when it was too late to order from another international store.
