I am after some cloud storage that I can use to backup files and images to securely online.
I am looking for a provider that is really robust, secure and perhaps a little clever in that I could upload 1000's of photos and it would detect duplicates etc for me.
Any suggestions?

I don't personally know of any cloud storage that has a detect and remove duplicates option (not to say it doesn't exist - if it does I just don't know about it…!). I would think you'd be better able to sort this side of it out on your own / client side however…
Tresorit could be one option that suits you? (https://tresorit.com/)…but bear in mind that your client side photos still aren't encrypted - only the cloud stored files are encrypted is my understanding, so this might not be good enough for you…
If security is of more of a concern then why not have a look at Boxcryptor (https://www.boxcryptor.com/). That way all your files are encrypted client side so it doesn't matter if your cloud provider (Dropbox, Box, etc) isn't 100% secure (the data they store for you is in essence meaningless 1's and 0's to them)…?
FYI Boxcyptor Classic works great for me, and if you want encrypted file names you can still do this with the free version, just go back in the Boxcrytpor Classic version history and download one of the older versions that allowed this… once you have your encrypted file name encrypted folder created (one off) you can then update to one of the later versions which has no folder size restriction…
