Hi everyone I'm a long time lurker first time poster. Would have posted sooner but everyone seems to find deals quicker than me!
I booked $9 flights to the Gold Coast a few months back. Due to fly in about 2 weeks. Unfortunately there has been some major expenses lately and I am contemplating not using the flights, but my husband and I were really looking forward to it.
So now I am trying to figure out how cheap we do can do this trip. I would love any advice on deals, offers, coupons etc that can help make this trip happen.
We would only be going for 2 nights, and dreamworld and movie world are a must (yep they are what's making the trip expensive but if we don't go to theme parks we may as well just head to our local beach!)
Please help me with your ozbargain wisdom!
Gold Coast on a budget, help please

Go to Wet n Wild too if you get the chance.
You can get discount theme park tickets if you are a member of NRMA or RACQ (or whatever motoring association you have in your state).
Also you can save money by combing tickets ie warner bros owns Movie World, Wet and Wild and Seaworld, you can buy a multi day pass that covers all three parks. Dreamworld also has White Water World and Skypoint.
If you think you may come back within a year you can also buy yearly passes for not much more than the daily entry.Buy this and get 15% off

Cheaper to get theme park transfers from your hotel rather than hiring a car, but if you really want a car I'd recommend RedSpot or East Coast Car Rentals.
Hey guys, if anyone is still interested, that myfun offer on scoopon is back as suggested by Unicorn888.
http://www.scoopon.com.au/deals/53036/-50-myfun-digital-gift…i also "liked" the myfun facebook page to get an extra $10 off so iv purchased a VIP theme park from myfun for a total of 70$. ie $109.99-$15x2-$10=$70 unlimited access till end of june 2014.
I'm a Queensland local. If it's not peak season don't book anywhere. Just drive down the Gold Coast highway and the cheap motels have their "blow in" rates on signs. Then if it's more than a few days, ask to see the room and then go and haggle a weekly rate.

I know it's not cheap, but you can stay at the Q1 for around $230/night which includes parking, and you can spend $25 to go up to the skypoint, which gives you a $20 food & drink voucher up there.. Like q1 resort on Facebook and you can use facebookfriend or VIP as a code, 10-15% off. There are other cheaper hotels, much cheaper.. I reccomend the Q1, I stay there a few times a year.
I booked with Apex car hire for my trip in a few weeks, and I think 'cut price car rentals' are pretty cheap too..
Also if you have an entertainment book, there may be a few things in there to save some coins.
