Somewhat related - if you ever visit Los Angeles you should go to the Getty Museum and Getty Villas. I'm not exactly a huge art fan but these places had some amazing stuff and was one of my favourite places in LA. Nice drive along the coast to get there too.

  +1 was there only a few days ago, apart from the wonderful collection of art works at the Getty Museum, it also has great views of LA and nice gardens. OzBargain tip: visit Both the museum and Villa on the same day and you only pay for parking once if you take your parking receipt to the other.

  I went to the LA one and got there via local bus from Hollywood Blvd. Cheap.

  Definitely worth a visit. Bonus: entry is free. Parking (from memory) was $15.
