Anyone experienced Banggood deleting their reviews?

Left a couple of negative reviews for products that I received that were of poor quality and broken and unusable when received.

My reviews aren't there and looking over the site anything besides a 5 star review is rare.

The broken products I received were also purchased considering the reviews, if these reviews are dodgy and doctored I now feel I have been ripped off.

Am quite concerned as I also spent $80 on a product last week based on the reviews.

Note I did contact Banggood regarding the broken products I received and after making me waste my time by providing photos declined to replace them.

  • While I don't think their conduct is acceptable, this is kind of the downside to buying from these sites. You want cheap clothes? Something's gotta give. That being said, a lot of customer service in Australian stores these days is non-existant. It seems like a lot of retailers don't understand the "service" part of "customer service".

  • +1

looking over the site anything besides a 5 star review is rare.

    Red flag unfortunately :(

  • wouldn't surprise me if they are deleting unfavourable reviews

  • For all of the increasing lack of price competitiveness, delivery times and other issues, Deal Extreme has survived - and presumably - continues to thrive, substantially off the back of a largely genuine review system, and the resistance to create or allow the posting of bogus reviews.

Amazon aside, the only other site - also with price-competitiveness issues like DX, but also, I believe, thriving - that has properly embraced the 'let the chips fall where they may' attitude to reviews - is Meritline.
A fair few crappy one and two star reviews remain there, even when posted by clueless people who didn't understand what they were buying in the first place.

All this reminds me though, of the bogus reviews you see on some sites. I wish I'd taken a screen shot instead of just saving a link that became dead, but the funniest / most appalling one I ever saw was on Buyincoins. I'm guessing that there's also some treasure hiding in all of those Russian and Spanish language 'reviews' on Bic.

I've bought plenty of bits and pieces from them on the basis of price, but any site that stipulates that all reviews submitted must be '5 stars', is pretty sad.
Just like their effectively non-existent RMA process for those who gamble on buying something substantial like a tab or phone from them.

    • Good to know about Dx and Meritline. I find when buying online the reviews are so important.
A bad review isn't necessarily a bad thing either, it can stop other customers being disgruntled if the product description is off.

      • I did a bundle of neg or ave reviews for Dx years ago (as well as price matching comments in the questions sections for products) all were deleted.

meritline - respect, for leaving neg reviews.

  • Thanks for this feedback. I was literally about to purchase a few led globes from them.
As a result of their actions i wont be purchasing from them.
EDIT: On a side note, im now after G9 LED's any ideas?

  • Leave reviews on other sites, such as estore review, and include the fact that they have removed your reviews from the site.

  • At least your order Banggood order arrived, mine never did and they kept giving me fake tracking numbers. I received a refund via a paypal dispute.

  • I've made over 50 purchases from them, mostly small multi rotor models or model helicopters, or parts for same, or small electronic bits and pieces, tools etc. I've supplied a few reviews, all positive except one, and the negative one indeed never appeared. However, they also have forums and an ability to comment on a product, and they don't seem to censor those, so if you have a bad experience it's best to use those methods to alert other purchasers.
Overall, I've had a good experience with them, and continue to buy there. On a couple of occasions they have sent the wrong item for part of an order, and when I emailed a photo showing this, they quickly sent the right item and didn't ask me to return the wrong one.
Shipping can be slow, worst has been more than four weeks, but the latest item arrived only 9 days after I ordered it, but I think that's my record. They do seem to be getting quicker rather than slower.
I think their reputation would in the long run be better if they didn't censor reviews, and I have told them so. There are definitely some people working for them who are committed to improving the customer experience, so I am hoping that eventually they will stop this censoring.
