Anyone have problems with AKAI 40" (101cm) Full HD LED TV $299 @ Officeworks

I bought AKAI 40" (101cm) Full HD LED TV $299 @ Officeworks last year November. At first it work great and i am happy with the TV. After 2 months of good tv, it suddenly just refuse to display anything. All it shows is blank screen and occasionally some wide grey stripes and then blank again. I have tried to turn off the TV, unplug the power cable and turn it back on the problem just won't go away. I still have the warranty, i am just wondering do you guys have any solution to this problem. I am missing the aus open cause of this. :(

    • Yeah i was going to, was just wondering if any have this issue and if they resolve it.

  • I bought 2 of these sets and have had no major dramas. This is definitely not normal and you got unlucky. Thankfully we have a 3 yr warranty.

    Had this just over 2 years and the sound has gone to crap..
    so will be taking it back asap…

  • Sounds like the video controller board has died.

  • Bought same TV via OzBbrgain post and it's now showing half the screen darker than the other.

    Dont think it has a demo mode (I.e. to demo contrast, test pixels, etc) so I'm guessing it's an issue with one of the LCD tubes.

    I've already done some internet research to find the service mode for this TV but haven't found anything that works.

    Anyone know the instructions to get into the AKAI service menu for this TV?

    Posting just in case anyone else has had a similar problem with this TV and remedied it.

    It's a shame as this TV was a great buy and, up until now has performed perfectly.
