Is there anything I can do? V8 experience deal not held up as promised

Hi everyone,

I had found a great deal for a V8 driving experience for my 21st on a site, I tried contacting them about it and they had agreed to honour the advertised price to me even though it was a mistake. They credited me the difference I then tried to purchase the experience, only to discover that they took it off the site. I contacted them again but they said that it wasn't their fault and there's nothing they could do about it.

I am now thoroughly disappointed and unimpressed with how they have run things.

I have tried contacting other sites with little luck.

Any help/advice is really appreciated, thanks so much guys, hope you're having a nice day!

if its one of the v8 days where you drive a few laps then you're not missing much..
I did one and found it rather disappointing for the price.. I get 100x more fun/adrenalin kick out of a trip to a proper kart track (such as Newcastle Kart track at Minmi with gokartsgo) than I did from driving a v8 where you had little control over the line you took or the speed as you were often stuck behind another car for 1/4-1/2 a lap

Doesnt really help you, but might make you feel less upset if you miss out ;)

    • Hey SBOB yeah, its one of those V8 ones you race around a track, I don't think it's a proper race of any kind, its just an experience from what I gather. I'm in Perth so I'm not sure about the karting thing. Do you have any experience with Rally driving?

PS. Thanks for letting me know :)

      • Do you have any experience with Rally driving?

nope… I was going to do one in Sydney's north with one of those adrenalin vouchers, but after watching some peoples videos of the event on youtube I decided not to bother…seemed incredibly average for the $…. though it may be different at different locations

      • Here in Perth there's indoor karting at Kart World in Belmont: http://www.kartworldbelmont.com.au/

I've never been there myself, so can't tell you anything about how good it is/isn't, but there's lots of info on their website.

I've done the V8 race experience thing. It has its appeal, was kinda fun…would I do it again? Yes. Would I pay for it? No. Karting is definitely way more fun. I did the race experience where I got to drive 9 laps and then another 5 laps with a pro driver in it. I got to drive first and the pro sits with me and tells me what line to take, when to brake, when to accelerate and basically the instructions are timed to get you around the course safely (and boringly) - I think the most fun part was when I put it into 2nd gear accidentally coming down the front straight at 200kmh and locked the rears up momentarily, I instantly reclutched and found the right gear and kept going - I think the pro needed a new set of shorts. He said the last guy to do that put the car into the concrete barrier the week before…nice to know. The pro drive laps feels like sitting in a washing machine on agro cycle. They show you how far the car can really go and hard it can really corner which makes your driving feel like Driving Miss Daisy in comparison.

  • So you actually purchased it at the reduced price, then contacted them and they said it was a mistake?

What does the original receipt that you received say that you've paid for?
