I'm thinking to buy some white good ( TV/Fridge/Split a/c) for my new home. I know it always better to buy it with a extended warranty to cover any eventualities. But that's at a price . Then i came across the extended warranty offered by the credit card companies which i though its a real deal since i don't have to pay extra to the White good dealer and understand that the fee associated with the credit card (90/p.a) is incurred. But that again any card does have that and its waved off it your purchase good/services more than AUD 20000 in a year which i recon most of us can do if that's your primary card .
Specifically i'm thinking about the westpac card. http://www.westpac.com.au/personal-banking/credit-cards/low-…

Is that wonderful if you get a fridge such a Mitsubishi with 5 year warranty and get a 2 year extended warranty from the credit card. So the question is does anyone has every claimed it successfully after the manufacture warranty expiry.
Generally speaking, most extended warranties offered by credit cards are a 3rd party insurance built into the card - so there will be an excess for every single incident claim…But then again, read the details applicable to your card's circumstances.
