Well yes because they are the company that distributes the titles in Aus. Occasionally they have some good sales however.
would definitely check stock/availability @ JB
though i would also imagine the catalog would be more extensive than any JB

As long as you make sure the Madoka screening next month has all audio/video/subtitles in sync then your secret's safe with me..
Wasn't their shipping only a $4 flat fee anyway? Regardless of how many items were actually ordered? Was the last time I ordered from them anyway…
I'll probably get flamed for this but I would suggest everyone to avoid Madman's Anime DVDs like the plague and try to source the R1 counterparts. This is primarily due to the ancient conversion methods they use when converting NTSC to PAL which causes artifacting and jerky motion when viewed on LCD/Plasma.
If you don't care about quality then this probably won't apply to you. However, anime in general is very expensive so quality should be expected especially for the price they charge. Although sadly it does not. :'(
Other Australian anime companies such as Siren Visual and Sony thankfully do not have this problem as they keep the material 'intact' and do not use destructive conversion methods.
This applies to their blurays too right?
If a disc is 1080p then they can only be in 24p, 1080i is a different story however they aren't as common.
Most of Madman's Blu-ray titles are direct clones of the USA's distributor which means it contains those non-skippable USA trailers at the beginning of the disc. However, the frame rates are intact.
For the blu-ray discs that Madman do author, they do a mediocre job at it by filtering them to death. i.e. all of the Studio Ghibli films.

I'd avoid madman just for price.
GET WITH THE TIMES GUYS!
Aren't most of the things selling at RRP? Would be better off buying from JB, even online with the $1 postage.
