Laptop Woes

I recently replaced thermal paste and gave the fan a clean on an overheating HP DV6 3131tx laptop. All went according to plan except when I finally put it back together it won't turn on.

Laptop receives power but it goes no further, the power button light (an HP Logo) blinks every 5 seconds.

Any ideas?

    probaly a short somewheere

    you need to take it apart, inspect, reassemble

    it sucks

    Full reseat of the CPU solved my problems. Success!

    I initially called HP Support who were useless and advised the blinking lights indicate a motherboard failure and wanted me to send it in for repair.
