Hi,
I'm in Mordialloc. Vic (Melbourne metro area) and currently using Telstra ADSL2+. The Mordialloc exchange is approx 1300m from me. I'm getting a line speed of 6.91 Mbps and a download speed of 864 KB/s. I'm evaluating various ISP's as I want more GB's of download for my new smart TV (ozbargained - of course ! ). There are a lot of offers out there and working out the best value for money is hard enough but when you take into account variables like speed and service quality/reliability, I end up going in circles. I found this list of ADSL2+ suppliers in the Mordialloc exchange: http://www.yourbroadband.com.au/exchanges.php?Exchange=MLOC . I also found this listing of interest, although they don't state the dates and numbers of votes: http://www.adsl2exchanges.com.au/awards-results.php … also you have to wonder how many of the comments and votes have been spiked by lets say "parties with a conflict of interest". I think to a degree, that applies with Whirlpool as well. I'm leaning towards Internode and iiNet, although their unlimited plans are a bit pricey. I guess my priorities would be reliability, speed, then price, in that order. Anyone have any better suggestions?
We are next door neighbours, well I'm in Parkdale. I'm with iinet and get similar speeds with their ADSL2+ package to your Telstra results. I've never had a connection issue in the months I've been with them. I initially tried to join TPG and they were utterly hopeless, after weeks of back and forth conversations they were adamant that my address and its phone line did not exist, iinet had no such problems and had the connection running in under a week.
Oh and how good is Mordy/Parkdale! =)
