Edit: Yep the older one. Still a good deal since theres very little difference between the two.

2nd gen has better light distribution and 25 percent faster processor.
I cant tell the difference in lighting between my wifes gen 2 and my gen 1 unless I really look for it. And there is zero real world speed difference.
The Goodreads integration is nice, the screen is a little crisper and the whole word dictionary thing is kinda cool.Are they worth the extra thirty bucks for the 2nd gen at DJs? Dunno about that.

Nope. But after using a paperwhite, I'd never go back to buttons.
