Hi all
Thought I would pick the brains of anyone in this community on their advice on flights to spain.
I will be travelling with a 8yo and my partner. We want to leave the week before sept school hols and come balk the week after they conclude (approx 1 month overseas).
Our primary destination is Barcelona in Spain.
My preferences are
- shorter flights with a stopover somewhere on route to break up the long flights for my kid.
- prefer a one world airline as I am a gold FF and can use the lounges and I really want the status credits to keep my level
- in a perfect world, I would like different stopovers there and back! E.g Hong Kong one way, Singapore return.
- and of course! a cheep flight.
Biggest question is, is there a good time to buy these flights. Most early birds only go to sept though a few are extending now to October/nov.
My research has been flying qantas (bit pricy but has advantages with FF), Cathay pacific (cheep flights don't earn status credits), finnair (additional stops with long waits in Helsinki where I have been before and don't care to stop over again).
As the flights are around $1800-2100 with these airlines, I'd also looked at an around the world deal but I don't know much about them.
So when should I be looking at getting the best deal, and how? Any suggestions?
