Plantronics M25 A2DP Bluetooth Earpiece $19 @ Officeworks

100

Wife hates it when she is talking and I have the headset on. So decided to compromise by looking for a cheap bluetooth earpiece that I can listen music with on my IPAD.

After looking around, I bought the Plantronics M25 from Officeworks for $19 dollars. Worked great with my IPAD and leaves one ear open for my wife. :-)

Looks like the cheapest according to staticice (http://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=Plantronics+M25…) and there are stocks everywhere according to Officeworks online. Also, not sure why Officeworks list it as M25D when it says M25 on the packaging.

Because it will end up costing me heaps more than a bluetooth earpiece..

      • good answer

  • Guys, If I want to use this with Skype on my PC, I presume I'd need a Bluetooth Dongle? Is there something can can plug directly into my motherboard?

      • Be mindful that Bluetooth limitation is 100 meters distance.

        • +2

          thought it was 10 metres?

        • Different classed of bluetooth have different range. Most headsets will be 10m

  • How secure is it in your ear? I have been toying with the idea of wearing a BT earpiece whilst riding my bike so that I can get navigation directions from Google Maps on my iPhone in the back pocket of my jersey.

    • Get a wired headset or the Bluetooth unit that let's u plug in standard headphones, they are a bit cheaper than this from China.

    • Bought one today. It sits very secure in the ear if you use it with the ear hook.

  • Also good for making/receiving calls via iPad. I know quality can vary significantly. Some cheaper ones are not even worth considering.

Can anyone comment on the quality of this unit?

  • I have issues with this headset and Skype, the sound is fine but all the other end hear it's static. Tried 2 Bluetooth dongles but same issues. Skype Doesn't play nice with bluetooth headsets. Range wise i get roughly 7-8m. battery life is pretty good. Stays in well in the ears and comfy, not sure how it would fair on a bike though as it may get to rough.

I should add Skype was on the pc, Skype on mobile (only tried android) works fine.

Sound quality is pretty good for something this small, i use it to listen to the radio sometimes, keep in mind it is mono and designed for voice.

  • got one, thanks fmoh

  • Got one - first impressions are that it is a big light and possibly flimsy, but a call I made worked really well. Very simply to pair with my S4, and my friend said I was easy to hear. Overall pretty good value for $19 I think, and a heck of a lot better than the $450 odd that they have increased the fine to for using your phone whilst driving!

  • Anyone have any opinions on this compared to the M50 model (with behind ear loop)? The review score on Amazon seems about the same, but the top reviews for the M50 say it's fantastic. The M50 price isn't cheap here, but would be about $30AUD shipped as part of a larger order (Amazon's prices fluctuate a fair bit for the M50). Note: cheaper to buy the M25 from Officeworks than from Amazon.

  • Good deal, bought one, thanks OP
