Gift Crashplan for 1 Year to a Friend for $42 [Existing Crashplan Customers Only]

60

CrashPlan Customers save 39% when you give CrashPlan as a gift to a non-subscriber. That is only $42 for an Individual Unlimited 1-Year plan. Discount to be reflected once item is added to shopping cart.

The normal price for Australian customers is $69 for one year, so this is a 39% discount.

It appears the discount is bringing the Australian price down to A$42 just like the US price is dropped to US$42 so that's a rare multinational pricing win!

the website is kinda confusing. that big picture at the top half of screen is not really necessary and detracts from the info

    • Yeah, they designed their website recently. The new design is awful.

  • I've been using CrashPlan for about 3-4 years. It's a fantastic product, works everywhere (PC, Mac, Mobile) and has gotten me out of some strife once or twice.

  • So how does this work ?
I want to get a subscription. Does someone send me an email with a redeem code ? And then can I pay myself ??

    • From what I can see, it requires someone who already owns Crashplan to gift (pay for and send to a recipient) crashplan to someone else. So if you want Crashplan for a discounted price, you'll need to find an Ozbargainer who has Crashplan to gift it to you (you'll need to pay them somehow).

  • Yeah right! They might be one of the best backup software in the market but it was two year ago. There are many good one which cost cheaper and better than CrashPlan. Do your research on the Internet, it's not hard to find a better one. I can't tell you much more information as I am working for backup software distribution company.

    • there's cheaper unlimited backup? I don't think so.
I would wager that crashplan only maintains a single copy of your data in a single data centre though.
For me the selling point was the software runs on linux.

    • Please provide some details about a similar service that supports Linux and Solaris and is "better".

  • The link I posted doesn't seem to work any more. Try this one:

geek7899, yes it needs to be gifted from an existing subscriber. Try checking out from this link and see if you should be able to gift it to yourself. I went through to the "confirm" page with no trouble without being logged in or using an existing account holder's email address. Note it sneakily adds GST at the confirm page so the total is $46.20.

    • Thanks shump.

Entered all the details, for CC etc., but it needs an e-mail address which is already associated with a CrashPlan account :(

Would someone be willing to share their email address with me if you already have a CrashPlan account….
