If I buy a Telstra locked iPhone 5s from someone in eBay or Gumtree then how can I get it unlocked.
Telstra customer care says they can unlock it but it still depends on the IMEI number. I'm talking about the ads that say Sealed Box iPhone 5S. Telstra also said that warranty will be given by the store from where it was bought.
Kindly share your knowledge/experience about this.

that can not be entirely true as I see so many ads saying locked to vodafone/optus/telstra and so on…but I guess the unlocking process might have become easier…
I think you just need a itunes version from last 2-3 years to unlock now with telstra.
I found a iphone 5. Not sure if it was locked to vodafone but it had a passcode.
I went to.cabramatta and had it unlocked for $30!

Pretty sure if you tell Telstra you are going overseas they will unlock it for you. Up to you whether you ask the seller to do this as the price may go up.
AFAIK, the 5s should be unlocked already. there is no need to call up.
they stopped locking them after the 5 came out.
