    It's all explained in Wikipedia. It was originally called Ovomaltine (ovo = egg) in Switzerland (home of Nestle). When the name was registered in Britain, the name got shortened to Ovaltine.

    I think for a while, they did exploit the name by using oval tins, but this was way back in my childhood so this may be an unreliable memory.

  2 bucks each for cottees cordial, that is the cheapest I've ever seen it. Best specials are usually something like 2 for $7. I'll certainly be stocking up on it.

    Yes, $2 per bottle is the best I have seen recently as well. I got some for $3 per bottle at Coles last week but I'll stock up more now at $2 each.

    Yep - that's not the cheapest I have EVER seen it but certainly the best for awhile and very good.
