Yes they are only the theatrical version of the movies.
you need the extended edition
the theatrical is just not the same
esp. the two towers && fight sequence
I watch those movies maybe once a year.
The amount added by the extended editions is insane, I don't think I could go ever back to the theatrical versions again.
Cheers…bought with the hobbit 3d extended…
Awesome find, been looking around for this a little bit lately. Saved me $20+
Will the dvds work with our region dvd players though
Yep these are region-free.
if im not mistaken the special features discs are dvds and not blu-rays

for example the one they are selling on ozgameshop and it says you need a region 2 or region free dvd player for those.
JB's latest price on the boxset is the lowest I've seen it at $75-odd.
From what I've heard only the first movie has markedly improved visuals (it was reencoded, the others were not) but it comes at the cost of a constant green hue not present in the original…
Goddamn it PJ.
Saw the current film on Boxing Day and an extended version is definitely not required. It was a good 40 minutes too long already, so much boring filler, un-needed characters, inconsistent visuals and obvious fakeness. I nodded off twice, it was a struggle to keep my eyes open to the end. The only good things really were Gandalf and Smaug.
You do realise that they aren't the same right? The Hobbit is only 1 book that is being made into 3 films, whereas LOTR is 3 books made into 3 films.
And it was a pretty short book at that..
As for LOTR, the longest film was the 3rd one, which also happens to be the shortest book…
PJ has a problem keeping things short.
Even King Kong had an extended cut and that was already 2.5 hours long.
A lot happened within a few pages and needed to be covered, thus having a Hobbit trilogy. Just be grateful the folk songs arent really focused on in the movies, so far.
The new Hobbit movie Desolation Of Smaug is alot better than the first Hobbit, but its still feels very much like a replay/remake of the LOTR.
Fool of a took.
As a massive fan of the LOTR movies and Aragorns beard at the end of the third movie, I reject your opinion.
ordered thanks
Why is there a 2011 tag?
The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy (Extended Edition) [Blu-ray] [2011] [2001]
Lol the tags make it look like it's an illegal torrent
JBHifi has the single disk of LOTR for $8, if you buy two at a time(2 for 20$ plus 20% off)
