Private Health Insurance - what to claim by year end?

Hi All,

Wife has got top cover with HCF for 5 years and can claimed nothing in extras. We recently upgraded to family cover with Top Extra's plus.

Wondering if anyone knows who to claim before the year end? - Optical? Its all too confusing

first check the breakdown of Dental with HCF for your cover and then use the dental service accordingly.

What I heard they offer 2 free dental check up etc ( via there dental centre in sydney or HCF preferred Dentist)

Other is Optical, do same as for break down of limit available and get no gap ( non branded) prescription glasses to avoid paying out of pocket cost.

If you've got a vacation in your future, you could go get your travel vaccinations? My Medibank plan has a $100 allowance for random stuff like massages/travel vax/homoeopathy/etc.

Yes, really, they are a health fund that supports homoeopathy services. WTF? If only I could dilute my bill by a factor of 10,000,000 and pay them that amount…

Ok an update -

Claimed dental general checkup & clean (2 per year were allowed with no gap provider)

Got 2 glasses from specsaver, one was prescription sunglasses! (Optical $180 limit)
